The Holy Father has been asking for our prayers since the night of his election as pope.

Via the official Pope Francis Twitter account, the Holy Father expressed his gratitude for the countless prayers offered for his health.

Matteo Bruni, the director of the Vatican press office, confirmed this morning:

“His Holiness Pope Francis rested well overnight. The clinical picture is progressively improving and he is continuing his planned treatment. This morning after having breakfast, he read some newspapers and resumed work. Before lunch he went to the Little Chapel of the private apartment, where he gathered in prayer and received the Eucharist.”

Since the night of his election, Pope Francis has never tired of asking the faithful for prayer. He ends every public address with some variation of “don’t forget to pray for me!”

In the current health situation, the faithful from all over the world have responded to his requests, assuring him precisely of their prayers.
