With the Super Bowl fast upon us, players will be busily prepping for the game. Having to be in top physical and mental shape, these sportsmen will no doubt be relying on family members for support.
Yet one mom, Donna Kelce, has a bit of a dilemma: Both her sons will be playing in the game, but on different teams!
In what is a first according to Pro Football Hall of Fame, Jason and Travis Kelce, who play for the finalists — the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs respectively — will be able to really partake in some legitimate sibling rivalry at the Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.
The only issue is the effect this will have on their mom, Donna. Thankfully, as both her sons play offense, they won’t be on the field at the same time. As Kake.com points out, Jason is an All-Pro center, whereas Travis’ position is an All-Pro tight end.
Yet, while Donna will be able to admire the work of both of her sons, she’ll have to contend with the issue that moms and dads of sports-loving kids everywhere can appreciate — having to watch one of her children lose an important match.
Speaking with PJ Ziegler of FOX 8, Donna points out, “It’s your hopes and dreams coming true, but it’s your worst fears. Somebody is going to go home a loser, and neither one of them lose very well.”
However, as moms everywhere can understand, Donna is trying to be as balanced as possible, and celebrated both her sons’ success in reaching the final by tweeting a diplomatic message celebrating the schools where her sons received their education: Cleveland Heights High School and the University of Cincinnati.
Hopefully, at the end of the game, both of the brothers will be able to unite in the success of the victorious sibling… even if it may be a little tough to swallow!
