Students of the University of Nebraska were troubled to find a threatening letter taped to the door of the Catholic ministry center.

Jane’s Revenge, the violent pro-abortion group that arose after the leak of the Supreme Court decision to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, has issued a threat to shoot up a Catholic ministry center in the University of Nebraska. Authorities are investigating the letter, as well as a second similar note that was left on an Omaha church door on the same day.

Threat

According to the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), students were headed to the John Paul II Newman center for a pro-life workshop when they discovered a scribbled note taped to the door, which read:

“If our right to abortion in Bellevue is taken away due to the attempt to pass an abortion ban and it gets passed we will shoot up your Newman Center with our new AR14 rifles. Sincerely, Jane’s Revenge”

The writer of the threatening note has yet to be identified, but the police have promised to tighten security on the campus while the investigation is underway. Omaha news outlet KETV7 reported that Father Dan Andrews, pastor of the John Paul II Newman Center, made it clear that the university is taking the threat seriously:

“This obviously causes us great concern. Our number one priority is the safety of our students … we are thankful for UNO Police’s prompt response and attention to this threat.”

The SPUC’s Executive Director, Michael Robinson, commented on the threat of a school shooting, noting that pro-abortion politicians who compare pro-lifers to war criminals refuse to recognize the violent trends coming from pro-abortion extremists.

The statement alludes to December 1 comments made by former Senator Hilary Clinton, that likened pro-life supporters to the Taliban and soldiers who rape women as “a tactic of war.” These comments were made on the same day the letters were left at the university and local parish.

Robinson commented:

“Pro-abortion rhetoric, especially in the US, relies on such lies and intimidation because the argument itself, from the pro-abortion point of view, cannot be won rationally. As is increasingly becoming clear, pro-abortion ideology is a violent ideology, in the end turning to violence to uphold the similarly brutal act of abortion.”

Second letter

Fox News reports a second letter was posted to the door of Christ Community Church in Omaha. While the letter has not been posted online, a statement from the church informed that it was signed by Jane’s Revenge and contained similar threats as the University of Nebraska letter. The church statement also alluded to another letter that was left at another local church, but it is unclear if this is referring to the John Paul II Newman Center, or a third unnamed location.

Christ Community Church has refused to cancel any events, choosing not to be intimidated by the threat. Police have promised an increased patrol presence during church functions and events while the investigation is underway. Fox also reports that the FBI has taken an active role in the investigation, but has made no comments as of yet.

The USCCB, which has been tracking attacks on Catholic churches, religious-based institutions, and pregnancy centers in the US, reports 172 instances of violence, arson, vandalism since May 2020.
