Fr. Alfred Delp, S.J. (+1945):

St. Paul reminds us that humans have certain characteristics and that certain conditions are most natural to them—to love for instance, is one; to adore is another. And St. Paul lists others including gratitude, reverence, prayerful hope. The person who, in his inner being, has entered into the perfect relationship with God fulfills the real purpose of his existence; from that point on the dialogue can begin. Such a person discovers their real self because they have first put their mind in order. Long-forgotten talents, and some that have atrophied for want of use, are brought to life again.
