This prayer by Blessed Peter Vigne looks to Jesus in the Eucharist and prays that he be known and loved everywhere.

Blessed Peter Vigne was a 17th-century French priest who was deeply devoted to Jesus in the Eucharist.

St. John Paul II commented on his life during his beatification in 2004.

Contemplating Christ present in the Eucharist and the saving Passion, Fr. Peter Vigne was led to be a true disciple and a faithful missionary of the Church. May his example give the faithful the desire to draw daring for the mission from the love of the Eucharist and from the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament!

Blessed Peter was profoundly moved by an experience of Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist and founded The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. On their website is the following prayer from Blessed Peter.

O Jesus, so ardently loved,
would that you were
known everywhere,
for out of love for us you chose
to remain hidden
under the signs of bread and wine,
until the end of time.
