If we are fixated only on problems and difficulties, we are not living eucharistically.

On this vigil of Corpus Christi, Pope Francis offered three concrete ways to learn from Mary, who lived “eucharistically.”

Greeting participants of a Syro-Malabar youth conference, the Pope reflected on Mary’s example, particularly as emphasized in the theme for the 2023 World Youth Day: “Mary arose and went with haste” (Lk 1:39)

But he added another lesson from Our Lady, proposing it at the end of his address as, “one final thing”:

Mary teaches us also to live eucharistically,

in other words

to give thanks,
to cultivate praise,
and not to be fixated only on problems and difficulties.

“In the course of life, today’s fervent petitions become tomorrow’s prayers of thanksgiving,” the Pope assured.

POPE FRANCIS

The Syro-Malabar Church is based in India and traces its history back to the evangelization of the Apostle Thomas.
