Russian soldiers killed an Orthodox military chaplain while leaving a village in the Kyiv region. They did not allow the priest's body to be taken away to be buried.

On February 27, in the Kyiv region, Russian invaders shot and killed a chaplain of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Maksym Kozakyn, RISU reports.

Theologian Andriy Smirnov shared the following on Facebook:

The murdered Orthodox priest Maksym Anatolyovych Kozachyn was born in 1979 in Novomoskovsk, in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1996 he graduated from high school and entered the Kyiv seminary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, not recognized by the Russian Orthodox Church, where he graduated in 2000.

Since his ordination in 2000, Kozachyn served as the parish priest of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Rozvazhiv, located in the Ivano-Frankivsk district in the Kyiv region of Ukraine. The Orthodox priest was killed by advancing Russian soldiers when he was leaving the town by car. Russian soldiers did not allow locals to remove his body.
