Tampa Catholic High School received an astonishing donation from their former graduate, who's just 22.

Tampa Catholic High School will soon be boasting a new gymnasium courtesy of a former student-turned-New York Knicks player, Kevin Knox II.

The new facility will be named the Kevin Knox II Fieldhouse and is set to open in the spring with all the essentials, including a “state-of-the-art fitness center, Hall of Fame Pavilion, Champions Hall, coaching suites, video scoreboard, men’s and women’s locker rooms, bleachers and concessions,” according to a report in Tampa Bay Newswire.

“We can’t imagine a finer example of an alumnus who exhibits faith, excellence and family,” shared Robert Lees, the principal of Tampa Catholic High School. “Kevin is a champion on and off the court, and we are so grateful for this gift that will enhance the experience for every Tampa Catholic student, current and future.”

Knox, 22, known for his kindness at school, shared that the inspiration behind his donation was the lessons he learned from high school coach, Don Dziagwa, and the values passed on by his parents, Michelle and Kevin Sr.

I was inspired to give back to Tampa Catholic, as they helped me become the person and player I am today. Being a TC Crusader will always be a part of who I am on and off the court.”

While it may seem incredible that someone so young is in a position to offer such a substantial gift to his former school, it’s indicative of his desire for other youngsters to have opportunities to succeed as athletes and as good human beings.

Knox joins a growing list of inspiring young Catholic athletes. Another remarkable man, Kansas State player, Landry Weber, put aside a potential football career to join a seminary.
