Although they were from different walks of life, their friendship blossomed.

Today on July 1, Princess Diana would have turned 60. Although she died at 36, she achieved many extraordinary things in her short life. One of these was forming a friendship with the now canonized saint, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who happened to die just five days after her friend.

There were many photos in the press documenting the unlikely bond, but what was clear was that both radiated love in their desire to help the vulnerable, and they seemed to appreciate that in one another.
