Ireland’s Mass Rocks come alive once again in this inspiring video

IRELAND MASS ROCKS

Aid to the Church in Need Ireland

Zelda Caldwell - published on 06/28/21

Amid the stunning natural beauty of the Emerald Isle, Catholic priests celebrate Mass at makeshift altars that once served as secret places of worship.

Over the last few weeks Catholic priests in Ireland revived a religious practice that hadn’t been seen on the shores of the Emerald Island since the days of days of anti-Catholic persecution in the 16th and 18th centuries.

The charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) sponsored a campaign to invite priests to celebrate Mass at a “Mass Rock.” These boulders dotting the Irish landscape mark the spots where Catholics secretly worshipped at a time when the practice of the Catholic faith was illegal.

Watch the video below to see stunningly beautiful scenes of the Irish landscape, and join Aid to the Church in Need Ireland, in praying for the renewal of faith in Ireland through the intercession of the Irish martyrs.
