A specialist in disabilities is appointed to Vatican post

Fabio Ferrucci is a sociologist who specializes in questions of the inclusion of people with disabilities.

Pope Francis has appointed the Fabio Ferrucci, an Italian sociologist, an ordinary member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, announced the Press Office of the Holy See on May 7. Dr. Ferrucci specializes in questions of the inclusion of people with disabilities.

Born in 1963, Fabio Ferrucci holds a degree in political science and a doctorate in sociology and social policy. He is currently professor of sociology of cultural processes and director of the department of human, social and educational sciences at the University of Molise.

With an interest in the family sector and social policies, he has published numerous contributions on policies for the inclusion of people with disabilities in education. Since 2018, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Conference of Universities of Rector’s Delegates for People with Disabilities (CNUDD).
