WORTHY AND KALISTA

This short video is one reason to love social media!

Kalista and 11-year-old Worthy have garnered millions of viewers on TikTok thanks to their positive videos.

In some respects its just like watching any young girls sharing fun videos on hair and make-up tutorials. Yet their message is so much deeper, and so much more important.

In the video, the young women can be seen doing each other’s hair. They goof around, make faces and do all the moves you’d expect of youngsters these days. However, while the young ladies look fab, the insight into their relationship is even more beautiful.

Finding a family

As Kalista shared with Good Morning America, Worthy joined the family back in 2014. She’d spent the first few years of her life in a Chinese orphanage. She faced very gloomy prospects once she became too old for the system, especially considering the fact she has Down syndrome.

Thankfully Worthy found a family in which to flourish, a family where it’s easy to see she is adored. Yet among the winks, head massages and hugs, Kalista wants everybody to see how Worthy’s extra chromosome means she can “outshine in other areas.”

And in her big sister role, Kalista has a very important wish for the pair’s videos: “I hope and pray that people will be able to see the light that’s in her.”

Looking at the love and joy these young women share, it’s easy to see!
