Medieval baby walkers were ahead of their time

MEDIEVAL BABY WALKERS

What family life was like before Buy Buy Baby

For parents today it feels as if there’s a must-buy piece of baby equipment for every stage of their child’s development – from swings, bouncers, exer-saucers, and walkers to joggers and strollers.

All of these purchases add up and tend to take over one’s house, leading many a modern parent to sigh, and ask themselves, “People have been having children for quite some time. Is it possible that they managed it without all this stuff?”

The answer can be found at Pinterest. For a glimpse of what it was like to be a medieval family, check out these medieval and Renaissance paintings featuring baby walkers. There was no Buy Buy Baby back then, but they made do.
