Listen to Mozart’s childhood compositions

The exceptionally gifted musician wrote these when he was 5 years old.

Stories about Mozart’s boyhood genius are not only known to many, but are also well attested. At the early age of 5, he had already composed several short pieces for harpsichord and other instruments (all of them included in the video below), and played in different European courts with remarkably exceptional skill. As noted in the post published by Open Culture, the scanned manuscripts of four of these compositions can be found in the Morgan Library’s website, here.
