90-year-old husband and wife play Bach together.

The composer and pianist György Kurtág and his wife, Marta Kurtág, a piano virtuoso, are two of the most important figures in the music scene of the last 100 years. Mr. Kurtág was born in Romania in 1926, moved to Hungary in 1946 and married pianist Marta Kinsker in 1947. They have been playing together ever since.

In this video, the couple plays the transcriptions the composer has made of Bach’s choral prelude, Das alte Jahr vergangen ist BWV 614 (“The old year has passed”), his BWV 804 Duet, and a movement of the Baroque cantata Actus tragicus, according to the note published by Classic FM.
